Apr 19, 2017 The Tamagotchi Connection V5- also called the Tamagotchi Familtchi- was released in late 2007 in Japan and early 2008 for the rest of the world. It has a larger screen that the previous Connection models, making extra space to hold more characters on screen at a time. Tamagotchi Connection v2 is the first Tamagotchi to feature a shop where you can purchase four different items that change each day. All Tamagotchis made after the v2 have shops as well but v2, v3, and v4 all allow you to enter secret codes (one is usually found on the front of your instructions booklet) which usually consist of 8 characters using the A, B, and C buttons on your Tama.
The Tamagotchi Connection V4.5, the first to bear the 'half' numbering, does not add any new features, however it does feature new games, new items, and it corrects a number of glitches that plagued the V4.
